Southern fare advice

Hi - I would much appreciate advice on what is the best ticket (or tickets) for me to purchase please for the following journey:

2nd Dec - Coulsdon South - Eastbourne (Break of journey)
2nd Dec - Eastbourne - Brighton (Break of Journey)
2nd Dec - Brighton - Eastbourne (Overnight)
3rd Dec - Eastbourne - Cooden Beach (Break of Journey)
3rd Dec - Cooden Beach - Eastbourne (Overnight)
4th Dec - Eastbourne - Coulsdon South

All travel off peak
Disabled Persons Railcard discount

CDS-EBN or COB Offpeak Return £20.55
Offpeak Day Return (EBN-COB £3.35) and EBN-BTN £7.60

A better option would be to take advantage of the facility for breaking your outward and return journeys overnight on a CDS-COB ticket which is also £20.55. This is quite clearly permitted, though you may need to remind staff of this rule especially for the outward journey as it hasn't always existed!

If you wish to commit to specific trains, there are Advance fares from Coulsdon S to Eastbourne and vv, which would be a little cheaper, but I can't get these to show up on a journey planner.
I also thought about the Southern Daysave at £19 for day 1, but that would only be worth it with the very cheapest Advance back to Coulsdon.

Thank you - So with your second option of the £20.55 fare (CDS-COB) would that cover all legs or would I still need an extra ticket (EBN-BTN)?

Sorry, yes you still need the Brighton ticket; the only way to avoid that is to go direct to BTN, then on to EBN later in the day.
