Does anyone know what is happening regarding the new signalling on the Southern East Coastway route?

Polegate/Eastbourne was supposed to be commissioned in April but the signal boxes and semaphore signals are still in operation.

Any inside news about the delay would be interesting.

No it isn't. That is a date that has been proposed (along with another date next year) but NO DECISION YET.

Well, 2 other finish times have been missed - so who knows !! Should have been completed last October and then last April. Pretty sure no new date has been set yet, which is probably for the best due to the delay.

All I can tell you is a number of T- meetings have been arranged to review the projects readiness for commissioning on those dates. Yes, it could get pulled, even at the T-2 meeting just 2 weeks away for the commissioning, but the plan is to commission on those dates.

The project have proposed a date. That doesn't mean that those responsible for running the railway have agreed to it. No decision yet.

I wondered about that too. I appreciate that they're all on borrowed time there at the moment, but it's a pretty poor way to treat those - the signalmen - whose livelihoods are at risk by throwing various dates, some of them not very far away, around in public with no certainty behind them. Plans change, I know, but it'd be nice if folk could be given updates through official channels rather than having to rely on the rumour mill.

Exactly. When a decision is made, those affected will be the first to be advised.
