Southern dfft test

i recently applied for southern as a trainee driver, they emailed me a week ago and said altho my application has progressed thro to the next stage (i passed stage 1 and stage 2 asses in feb 2014) they wont be doing anything till early 2015 as they already have the allocation of trainees for 2014

i get an email this week asking me to attend a DFFT (driver fault finding test) next month which i knnow what it is as i work in the industry, am a bit confused, has anyone got thro to start with them as trainee drivers for this year...

i know some tocs use the DFFT test and some dont as part of the stage 1 and 2 assesments...

it just seems odd why they would bring me in to attend the DFFT next month when im on hold until the end of the year....

Probably to put you in a "talent pool" if they work like most other toc's do nowadays!

I don't mean to be harsh but your post doesn't make any sense (grammar) and I can't even understand the second paragraph.

If you have an email(s) stating that you have passed both assessments, I would call the HR team of your TOC to find out why you need to sit the DFFT.

With Southern the dfft is an additional test that you have to take, Its was the replacement for the old mehanical comprehension test. Southern won't take you on if you don't pass it. But look on the bright side when Southern start their recruitment for next year you will be one of the first in line. You can find information on the dfft in one of the LOROL threads from 2009 or 2010 as they were one of the first TOC's to use them. I hope it goes well.

I didn't realize the DFFT was a separate test. That would make sense that they want you to take it then. The key to passing it is to practice splitting your attention eg, focus your scan between two different pictures while occasionally reading some text and see how much you can take in overall. Its easier than it sounds. Good Luck

that was the one test I absolutely hated lol!! was lucky enough to pass it don't get me wrong but my advice is attention to detail!! little things make the biggest difference in this test.

for example you could have 99.9% of the question right in finding the fault and which fault gets treated first but if u don't shade the box next to your answer or write the correct rectification/attention required to fix the fault it's wrong!

Is the DFFT similar to the practice material then as I have passed all the other tests and gave this one to do ?
