because the ticket gives unlimited travel, in practice selecting london victoria shouldn’t be an issue, even if that’s not where you’re starting.

I wish to buy a Southern Daysave. How do I select a station other than London Victoria? The Southern website doesn't allow me to select an alternative station. I'm booking for the weekend
Are you 100% sure? Seems to be available for online purchase and then TVM collection from other Southern-managed stations.

100% sure. I have booked lots of Daysaves before (online) and selected London Victoria which at the time, was my local station. But now I live 60 odd miles away and wish to collect at my local station - but the website says it doesn't exist. For clarity, I'm selecting Ashford International (which is 15 miles from me) and the station code AFK but also, I tried London Bridge just out of interest and the Southern website wasn't having any of it it.

I need to book 3 days in advance and I'm travelling on Saturday. I also have an on-line account with Southern

Ashford isn't a Southern managed station though

I did wonder that which is why I tried London Bridge. But of course, this isn't a Southern-managed station either.

So the upshot is that I will have to get to Victoria to pick up my ticket then. Thank you
if you're located near Ashford, have you tried Ham Street which is a Southern managed Station with a ticket machine?

Is the issue possibly something to do with cookie settings? The Southern website "remembers" that tickets were last purchased for collection at London Victoria and so defaults to that again?

Go to this page. https://www.southernrailway.com/tickets/daysave Scroll down to the orange 'buy day save tickets' box on the right hand side. Choose any Southern Station You can collect from any TVM apparently like any other ticket I chose Dunbar and it still sold the ticket. (No warranty given with this advice. It worked when I last used one. )

I may be imagining this but I remember reading they can be collected from any station,.doesn't have to be the one selected, but best to collect from a Southern branded TVM so that the ticket format prints correctly.

I’ve collected daysaves from non southern TVMs many times before and they’ve printed with no issues.

It used to be the case that they could only be collected at Southern ticket machines, but this changed many years ago, and you should have no issues collecting them at any ticket machine.

The website is asking you which station you are starting at (which doesn't actually matter) but the dropdown will only list stations managed by Southern, to reflect this historical limitation.

Thank you; I've bought my ticket. I'll test it out to see if I can collect from my local station TVM (which is a SouthEastern station where I work)

Yup I've put in Ham Street and managed to purchase - thanks. Now I'll test the collection process and see if I can collect it from my local TVM near work which is a SouthEastern managed station
