Can anyone answer a query with these tickets please? There is an option to have TOD and print it at a machine. However it although it says allow 3 days for the email to reach you, it still won't let you book less than 7 days in advance. Is this correct? Also could a TOD ticket be collected at ANY ticket machine or is it just the ones Southern list i.e. their own stations. If for example I get a code to use at Leatherhead could I use it at Horsley?

Day Save is a maximum 7 days in advance only. As far as i know you can collect it at any ticket machine in the Southern area, but i dont know about Horsley as its managed by SWT. I think its only valid from the station of origin too (in your case, Leatherhead), so to go from Horsley, you would have to buy a ticket from Horsley to Leatherhead.

Might be wrong, if i am may someone correct me.

See this.

Appears that only Southern machines might be used, so not Horsley. Not sure if it is ANY Southern machine, but I'm sure that it is on the system and if you have a problem, you can always collect at the ticket office.

It is effectively a Southern network day ranger so as long as Southern services are used at all times, there is no requirement regarding the starting station.

Thanks BB21 for your link. I've had one of these before and started at Guildford, as there are 2 Southern trains each morning and evening, but the 1st up one doesn't stop at Horsley rather annoyingly :( I need the peak version to do these though.

Not bad value for an all day bash - went to M Keynes & Eastbourne last time. I see the off peak has gone up by 20% from £10 to £12 but the off peak one is still £30.

Just a bit annoying that even with an email TOD you still need 7 days notice to buy one.

Shame SWT don't do any rover rickets. The old area A/B/C/D tickets from the 70's were excellent.

Meant minimum then, maximum would be a bit weird.

And thanks for the corrections :D And yes, the Day Save is very good value, but i use the All network Downlander, mainly as i live in Eastbourne and saves me having to buy a ticket. Its also good for all the reasons Pumbaa said :)

Southern ToD's can also be collected from LOROL stations on the East London Line where Southern also provide a service to London Bridge, but not from LOROL or LM stations on their Milton Keynes service.

Clapham Junction is also not on the list as it's managed by SWT.
