Hello all,

No I didn't try it on the Gatwick Express!!

I cannot seem to buy one though! Last time I did this I went on the DaySave page, clicked on 'purchase a DaySave' button at the bottom and it comes up with the search engine. I couldn't quite work it out until I figured you had to search for a single journey to somewhere random on the SN network, click on the DaySave tab at the top and a £17.90 DaySave ticket would then be available.

Problem is I can't actually get a journey to show. I'll be starting at Southampton on the 7th December, so I selected that date, 10AM start time, Journey Southampton to Victoria, 1 adult, no fares exist for this route....really!?

Ok Southampton to Brighton....nope, Brighton to Southampton? Nope....Hell Brighton to Victoria....nope! No fares exist anywhere, is it free travel season then?!!
Until I get a journey I can't select the DaySave tab, so what am I doing wrong? Must be something I'm not doing!

I also tried the 8th incase it didn't like the 7th, and tried later times, but still didn't work.

Any help would be most appreciated!

Cheers,

James.

When I last did it you had to press the DaySave button first then put in a journey, so that must have changed recently.

Note that the tickets can also only be collected from a Southern TVMs or posted out to you - they print out funny when collected from a non-Southern TVM!

Oh really? Just as well I selected Southampton instead of Westbury!! I nearly did but I've done it from Southampton before, and I arrive at 0904, so have an hour to kill before I can use it so thought I'd pick up from there

I would advise picking it up from a Southern TVM as I don't think other TVMs have been set up to print it correctly.

The last time I picked up a Daysave from an SWT TVM at Portsmouth and Southsea it printed it as an outward and return return ticket, rather than in the rover format. It caused a bit of confusion among the guards who checked it, although it was universally accepted.

Not true, as I've picked up Southern Daysaves from Andover TVM in the past, and come out the same as they do when they are posted out

If the TVM prints +Bus correctly, rather than as a single, then the chances are it will print a DaySave correctly. Obviously, this is most machines, but not a Northern one!

I have successfully collected both from West Coast TVMs successfully.

Yes I've collected DaySave's from Darlington before now and it's always printed perfectly.
