At Redhill this morning, the 08.29 TL service to Peterborough was on platform 0 (albeit delayed), while the first 4 carriages of the 08.45 SN service to VIC sat on platform 2.
The rear 4 carriages arrived to be attached, but went straight in on platform 0 and sat about 5 meters behind the thameslink service.
Asking out of curiosity, was this an error on the signallers part? Does Southern get some compensation from network rail for this?
The driver of the SN service announced there was an issue with the signalling system, and that the proceed aspect (which he previously had) was then taken away from him and given to the thameslink service on 0. We finally left as just 4 coaches, leaving the other 4 on 0 - guessing they were taken out of service..
