Also requested a pack. Lets see how this goes. Seems like a lot of tocs are advertising trainees at the moment

Really? This is the first one for quite some time, maybe I've just been missing them.
In the last couple of months Northern, TPE, FGW, GA, SET, LM, Southern & Chiltern.

Even the FOC's have been getting in on the act which seems much rarer - Freightliner HH, DRS, Colas, Eurotunnel and DB Schenker.

Would it be appropriate to apply for both roles? I can be based at two addresses one is well with the 15 mile requirement for Tonbridge for the conductor roles and the other is in London for the trainee driver roles. Both jobs interest me but are you allowed to apply for both?

Has anyone who requested the application packs had them come through yet? And if you did were they in electronic or paper form?

I have received an email...I spend sometime doing a decent 'cover note' not a CV with regards to my current experience gained working on the railway.

Surprised slightly...and not sure of my chances, seen as I live in the Midlands...although I am willing to relocate.

Just got my pack through
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
Rather oddly I can't find any details of a closing date nor does there seem to be an option to send electronically?

Nope, so I'll post mine back on Monday, give them a good going through.

Do you think they'll accept additional pages, seen as they only give you 3no lines, for example, to answer 'Please summarise the main duties of your current post to include your contact with customers and colleagues as well as any
financial and supervisory responsibilities'?

That's quite a lot of info they are after on 3no lines!

Ring the customer service, explain to them, they might give you the correct one?

Their website does state:
Please note the Southeastern Recruitment Centre London office has now moved. Any future communications should be sent to the following address:

Southeastern Recruitment Team
Recruitment & Training Centre
3 Priory Road
Tonbridge
Kent
TN9 2AF

No number though...:|

Is there a non premium rate number for customer services? You can't ring 0845 etc from France where I'm working?

I'm sure there was a 017** something number on the contact us part of their website...

Customer Services team on 0845 000 2222 or 01732 378 751

Great thanks

Spoke to a guy on customer services today who said they do not have a phone number for HR. He mentioned that he was an ex driver and strongly advised getting the application in ASAP. He suggested e-mailing the HR team using the address I requested the pack from and explaining the situation. I still find it very odd we can't just e-mail back the completed forms or hand write them scan them and mail them. I have no chance of posting these back until next Weds when I am off the ship and fly back to the UK. All a bit of an odd recruitment process in 2013!

It states on the form you can use additional paper for questions, which I have had to, for job description. My nearest depot to hom at the moment is york. Doubt they will pay my travel expenses lol. Hows everyone getting on with it?

I got my pack today. It's very, very similar to the pack that I filled out for a gate line role.

I'm through to an online assessment for that so I'm going to stick quite closely to what I wrote in that application.

I wonder though, for the customer service question, can I use examples from my teaching career? It's not customer service per se but its about communication and behaviour management...

(I'm only going for the conductor one, and like someone above, I'll post it on Monday)

Got an email this morning saying 'We would like to proceed your application to the next stage of the process, which is an online DSI Assessment'
