Near Cannon Street in London
From memory you can choose from a couple of locations based in LondonJust a quick question. Where are the medicals carried out?
Was meant to have mine yesterday in the city. New broad street.Just a quick question. Where are the medicals carried out?
thanks for your replies. Will just practice keeping the answers concise and relevant to the role as mentioned.
Looking online the 'SJE' seems to be a set of questions with multiple answers, and its a case of putting them in the most relevant order?
Thanks
I believe there's a course starting in July, but I imagine you'd have been contacted about that one by now.Yes, same here. June 24 applicant. I passed everything, all interviews and assessments, passed the medical mid April and told I'm in the talent pool. Literally waiting for a start date but no idea. Can't book summer holiday with the kids etc, very frustrating. Did they give you any indication of how long the wait would be?
When I went for my assessments a few weeks back they said they’d filled everything up to August and potentially September by now tooI believe there's a course starting in July, but I imagine you'd have been contacted about that one by now.
I did my assessments last year October, I applied for Charing Cross too. Still waiting for MMI and DMI. I did get an invite for the MMI but when I went to book the date all the slots had already gone so have to wait for the next lot now.In my group. 12 out of about 18 people passed. Only 2 of us applied for the Charing X depot. Did you guys get people applying for Charing X in your groups? I hardly see anyone in the forum mentioning Charing X. Could that be a good thing for me?
Thank you. I'm sorry that you missed initial opportunity for MMI. Hopefully you'll get another opportunity soon. Maybe you should send them an email and find out if you will be considered for the next booking slots.I did my assessments last year October, I applied for Charing Cross too. Well done on passing your assessments
The fact you're required to carry it means you are at risk of another attack right?Does anyone know if it’s acceptable to carry a GTN (Glyceryl Trinitrate) spray as a driver? I was given one after my heart attack a couple of weeks back. Had a call yesterday from the medical company asking about my health and they said they’ll contact me for a telephone appointment to see what adjustments they need to make for me. I’ve no idea what this means as I feel totally fine, didn’t even have a stent, my heart is functioning perfectly and the damage is minor. I haven’t had to use the spray at all and I’ve been living life normally since coming out of hospital. I’m bricking it thinking it might not be acceptable as using it may cause dizziness!
Hopefully, it’s taken me 2 years to get this far! I’m hoping the spray is only a temporary thing as it was only 2 weeks ago.The fact you're required to carry it means you are at risk of another attack right?
They've scheduled an appointment to discuss this rather than flat out declare you unfit, which is a good sign.
Yes it is a long wait, I too am waiting to see if a minor health issue will get me through my medical, should find out next week. Then It will just be awaiting job offer.Hopefully, it’s taken me 2 years to get this far! I’m hoping the spray is only a temporary thing as it was only 2 weeks ago.
Same to you mate, good luck! It’s Sod’s Law, that four days before my medical I had a heart attack!Yes it is a long wait, I too am waiting to see if a minor health issue will get me through my medical, should find out next week. Then It will just be awaiting job offer.
Fingers crossed for you.
Awesome, congratulation!Passed the DMI Monday. Medical booked for next week. Fingers crossed it goes ok.
Yes I believe so as you won't get a chance at the MMI therefore not getting the assessment pass. What depot are you applying for?Just had a phone call out of the blue to have my DMI interview in two weeks before my MMI interview.
If I fail the DMI does that then mean I have to start from scratch again if I reapply?
Hopefully I won't, studying starts tomorrow, exciting times.
I've got my interview at Dartford.Yes I believe so as you won't get a chance at the MMI therefore not getting the assessment pass. What depot are you applying for?
This is wrong. The DMI isn't part of the standard testing. You can use your test centre passes and apply to different TOC’s. No lives lost. You would have to wait 6 months to reapply to SE though. Any other TOC should be fine as long as your marks meet their criteria.Yes I believe so as you won't get a chance at the MMI therefore not getting the assessment pass. Yes but he's saying that his DMI is booked before his MMI therefore if he fails the DMI he'll have no chance at the MMI and therefore won't have a assessment pass afaik. This is wrong. Yes I know what he means. I'm saying he wouldnt be able to do mmi with SE, but he can do it at a different company. The dmi isn't part of the standard testing. I hope someone else would confirm this but I'm pretty sure that's how it works. Should he fail the dmi, his choices are to wait 6 months and reapply to SE, or immediately start applying to other companies. Me too!I've got my interview at Dartford.
Thanks for confirming what I know. And congratulations. How are you finding I? I'm assuming you're on a course now. What was your DMI like? This is correct.
I passed half of my assessments 2 years ago, and failed the DMI for a shunter role. Never got to attempt to MMI.
Earlier this year, my application for the trainee driver position advanced further and I was invited to MMI which I passed and later passed the DMI. The assessments from 2 years ago were still valid.
Assessments last for 5 years. If you have not secured a job in those 5 years, then you would need to start from scratch.
Thank you, waiting to get my medical sorted next week. Didn't go to plan last week. Thanks for confirming what I know. And congratulations. How are you finding I? I'm assuming you're on a course now. What was your DMI like?
Were both of those jobs with SE though? I'm not sure if you can take assessment centre passes without the MMI to other companies? Although I may be wrong. This is correct.

Sorry to hear of the setback. Hope it all goes well this time. What depot did you apply for? Ok I'll have a look through the thread to see what I can find ofln the dmi. So definitely worth learning about the rolling stocks? All the best moving forwardThank you, waiting to get my medical sorted next week. Didn't go to plan last week.
DMI was very relaxed, obviously that depends on the depot. All 3 were very chill and we had a good laugh during it. I won't go into too much detail because that is plastered all over this thread but one thing I wish I read up more on was the rolling stock. I knew the model names but didn't learn the numbers (375, 376 etc).
It doesn't have to be with the same company I explained. The companies will consider what tests you already passed, and will either progress you to the mmi, or let you do over tests which require a higher score, or whatever extra test you will need to complete with them. It's all company based. But you can use the passed with other tocs. Were both of those jobs with SE though? I'm not sure if you can take assessment centre passes without the MMI to other companies? Although I may be wrong.
