Hello everyone,

I have searched a fair bit and can’t seem to any answers to this one.

Can anyone tell me if there are specific dates or months when Driver trainees are scheduled to start for Southeastern? Or can it be any time of the year?

Thank you,

Tee.

No one can say this but SE themselves. TOCs will recruit and make course dates when the Vaccancies are needed. There isn't a specific scheduled period nor especially specific dates planned every year.

Thank you, that’s just the information I was after.
I got offered a start but had to turn it down due to having a holiday booked. But it was so soon that I would have had to fit in a manager’s interview, medical and received an offer and work my 4 weeks notice at my current job. I don’t see how I would have made the date in time?

On a similar note, will the training for this current intake start soon after all the screening is done, or will they put us in a pool and the training could be ages away? I'm thinking about work commitments. Don't want to turn things down under the impression I could get on the training course in a month when in reality it'll be more like six months plus.

From my experience (I've been through the process 3 times up until DMI) it can be quick or you can be waiting years, unfortunately. My wife asked me a similar question yesterday and I told her that it could be this year or next year.

I'm a teacher at the moment and I've already made commitments for the next school year.

To be honest though I have never seen such a big recruitment drive so I imagine they will be trying to get everyone through the system ASAP. The depot you have selected will also determine how quick it can be too.

Hi,

So I've been invited to take the M7SJT test. Just a question for those that have completed it.

How many scenarios are there and what's the time limit?

Also, are you able to go back to check answers if you have time?

Good luck everyone

25 Questions/Scenarios and I believe 70mins when my friend took it. I don't remember him being able to go back as he did mention he had a question he'd have wanted to change answers for.

Hi All,
I received my Invite for the M7SJT today, says it should be completed by the end of the month. Having looked at the example from OPC and doing some research on line for the assessment I wondered if anyone can clarify whether we pick one answer or as with the OPC example we have to order the answers 1-4?

Seeing the post is now closed, for yall that have applied and sat the tests it will likely be within 7 working days from the 14th of July for results.

That's great, thanks for your help.

Definitely getting ahead of myself here, but anyone have any insight into what the assessment centre part of the recruitment process entails?

Good evening All,

A question for those that have completed their M7SJT. Although everyone's scenarios will be different. We're they all based around train driver scenarios? Or just general non driver scenarios?

Thanks in advance

You will get emailed your results at some point regardless if it's a fail or pass! From what I am aware it is taking them longer due to the amount of applicants, but they will get to you at some point. Best luck to you all

Hi all,

Sorry if this has already been asked.

I've recently the online assessment for the Trainee Train Driver role with Southestern. I've been invited to attend in person assessment.

If anybody knows, what exactly is the recruitment process? And what does the in person assessment entail?
