Southeastern is currently advertising for Train Service Managers.

Does anybody here know how long the training takes? The salary is lower until you’re assessed as being competent.

Also, does anyone have knowledge of the shift pattern?

Training will probably be on desk with a trainer following their shift pattern, with a bit of desk training. Length is probably a few months.

No idea of the pattern, but I'd expect earlies/lates/nights of broadly 7-9 hours each and 12hr day/night weekends.

Did you end up applying for the job? And if so was you successful?

No, I didn't. Only because it wasn't really the right time for me. I think the lack of information online about these roles means they aren't necessarily looking to attract people from outside the industry.

Hi Horizon, do you know anything about southeasterns recruiting process. How long does it take for them to get back to after an interview.

No idea, but will be in line with most other TOCs. The answer is normally “quite long”. Sometimes you might get no email for months and months and then a decision or a rejection.

If you’re successful after an interview it’s normally quicker though - because they want to get the process started - and less so for unsuccessful
