Seems at the moment they are doing courses every other month; 2 courses starting this month, another one in November and I managed to get a start date in January pending medical. Good luck to those still in the process.

Does anyone know where Southeastern carry out their driver training - the classroom element at least. I know Ashford is certainly one of them, but I wondered if there were any others?

Thanks in advance

Could someone clarify the training salary for me? Is it 24k until you've totally finished training, which could be 18 months down the line (pardon the pun)? or does it rise within that period?

It would rise at the completion of rules before you start traction. Then will have another stage after that.

Can anybody advise if Southeastern generally provide their drivers (trainee or experienced) with free parking facilities at driver depots (excluding Victoria and Charing Cross)?

Cheers
All except Vic/CX have free parking. Some locations have a staff car park, and some like Dartford/Gillingham/Faversham you have to use the public station car park. You would be issued with a parking permit free of charge for your depot.

Evening everyone, couple of questions. I have a DMI interview for Ashford Depot. I was wondering what type of questions were you asked. Secondly do they use your answers from the MMI interview or your original application for any questions

cheers
How did your DMI go? I passed the assessments/MMI last week, so I’m waiting to mmmmm for a DMI. Any tips /questions asked of you? I appreciate any response, thanks. Good luck!

@RPOMan
get the TPWS info deep in your head!
Wikipedia the company and get that ingested deep in your head too!

think of the describe a time when.... answers and make sure you use the STAR to give your answer.

make sure you understand why you want to be a driver!
try to not be cliché with this
I.e I always wanted to be one since I was a kid..sorta answers...
be honest and just relax (easier said than done)
They can see through any lies and will catch you out if you do.

make sure you’re ontime too lol

There also doing a recruitment drive for women. I’ve been in the talent pool a year now waiting on assessments and I know of at least 8 women who have been in within 3/4 months

Well, that’s positive discrimination for you :/

You can target your adverts for women, encourage them to apply etc but you cannot choose an applicant based on their sex/gender. That would be discrimination. (not the positive kind)

I applied and had an assessment within a month very recently, are you waiting for the assessment day/MMI?

There’s a recruitment drive which has been consistently going on for the past few months with courses every 3 months. I believe January’s course is full with another in the diary for April. I was waiting for about 2/3 years from application submission.

Anyone still awaiting a DMI at all ? I passed my assessments and MMI at the beginning of July and still waiting. I’ve been told I’ll now have to wait until the new year.

Hi mate, I passed my assessments and MMI in October and I’m still waiting for a DMI. I’ve queried it a few times and just been told I’ll be contacted when a DMI is available. I believe from talking to others who have had a DMI, that a few courses for the new year are already full. COVID is impacting everything sadly. Hopefully it won’t be too much longer.

Fingers crossed mate ! It’s a long old wait after applying in Sept 2018. I’ve been given the same info but didn’t know that courses for the new year a full already ! COVIDS definitely slowing everything up ! Thanks for the reply mate and hopefully we will both be given dates in the new year !

Wow yeah that’s a long old wait mate, I was lucky in that I applied late September and had the assessments etc in October! The company didn’t confirm that but I spoke to a guard who passed his DMI and that’s what he had been told. Yeah I’m really hoping to hear something in January, best of luck! Keep me updated

Tell me about it ! But I should be thankful I’m through the assessments and the MMI. Every cloud ! That’s decent you got through so quickly. Makes you wonder if there’s any method to the process or they just pick from the list of successful candidates ?! Likewise mate let me know how you get on and if you hear anything
