There are a few withdrawn 466s on SE turf still which may have been part-stripped but not sent to scrap yet. However, with there now being two scrapyards mothballed/closed down and 455s being first in the queue for whatever's left, I doubt these 466s will be dragged away anytime soon (unless a deal had already been agreed with Kingsbury and hasn't been delayed).

466041 doesn’t appear to have been out much recently. Is it in store awaiting scrapping ? If so, does anybody know of its location ?
Should be pulled out today to run on Charing Cross - Sevenoaks services, starting from 2S32 1201 Ch X - Sevenoaks attaching from Orpington

It's actually on a Charing X-Hayes/Gravesend diagram:

Could we see units like 465005 and 178 follow? They are well-known candidates for being in a state (even though 005 returned to Gillingham recently).

How easily could scrapping abroad be achieved, if this and other units will soon be scrapped? Two notable scrapyards have closed in the UK, and Dollands Moor is right next to the Channel Tunnel, however there is the question of whether such a move would be cleared for the tunnel.

465032, 465038, 465045, 465175 and 465188 all appear to be possible candidates so far. All of these units have been stored at Slade Green for a while.
465038 and 465045 were stored at Grove Park around New Year. 465021 was stored there too. 021 is my last surviving Networker for a photo so trying to keep an eye on its movements (or lack thereof).

As 465 drags to dollands moor seem to be a regular occurrence across the next few weeks it seems fitting to have a thread to collate the withdrawal of the networkers specifically.
Another one of these moves has been put in for next week , this move will be a regular occurrence for the next few weeks.

66106+BYA+465032+BYA+ 66175 should be allocated on the 31/1/26

On the 7/2/2026 it should be 66106+BYA +465038+BYA+66175

465032, 465038, 465045, 465175, 465180 and 465188 are the units expected to be sent to dollands moor. 465005/465021/465027 however are excluded from this and are stored elsewhere.

The order of Transfer to Dollands Moor has not been fully finalised yet.

Seems fitting yes, does anyone know why these are going to Dollands moor, I've had some people say these are going to Nigeria, some say they are being sent to Crewe after and some saying they are being exported for scrap?

That can be ignored, the source is a well known gobsh*te on twitter!

From what I've heard they've just been sent there for short term storage as Worksop Don't want to accept any more units for storage and something about Angel trains no longer wanting to pay the Leasing cost for Ely Papworth so will no longer be moving any more units there.

No idea where the Dollands Moor units will go after their stay at Dollands though, presumably scrap.

Why would they go to Dollands Moor if they were going to Nigeria? :s

*Sighs*
Too many railfans dislike the 465/466 classes. I think they were great, though they were in service for too long. I had my best UK rail experience on 466011. I desperately needed to go, so when I got on I fast-walked to the bathroom. But when I tried to open the door, it seemed to be stuck. There was a man across from the bathroom on the phone, and he told me to pull hard, and it worked! God save that Londoner. BTW I’m from the US, specifically Portland, Oregon, and your Parliament is so very funny (in a good way) compared to our version.

We haven't even had confirmation of the new fleet award yet, but the latest development, if these units are definitely done for, shows the DfT need to get a move on.

When did 465921 get scrapped?

I understood it to still be at Ely
It went to Booths last November, however there seemed to be a system mix-up thinking 920 was the unit that went there with 934. So AIUI, 920 has not yet been scrapped but 921 has.

I’ll take your word for it but my understanding was vice verse and that 921 is still at Ely despite some reporting to the contrary
