I happened to notice that SouthEastern will be holding a 'Meet the Manager' event next week on Thursday 8th November between 8am and 10am at Charing Cross.

'This is a monthly event where passengers get to speak directly to Southeastern senior managers from every department.'

There is a full list of future dates and locations on the link below.

I've only ever travelled with them from Waterloo East to London Bridge.

They were alright then! :o

I see this as a 'lipservice/PR stunt'

They are at London stations between 8-10am and they are the managers for a TOC that and I quote here 'run train services into London from Kent and East Sussex.'

So they are only going to be available at the times when people are rushing off the train into work when it would be far more sensible to either

A-Be available Morning and Evening
B-Be at the Kent/Sussex stations

These have been happening for a long while now. They rotate through the London termnini every month. Never stopped to talk.myself but at St Pancras there are often quite a few passengers speaking to them.

Quite possibly with a ton of questions about their use of Twitter (or lack of...)!

Funny you should say that, on weekdays the SE Twitter actually replies to you now. Recent thing in the past week or two. Now there is actually a real human replying to passenger questions and complaints.

I might wait for next session at St Pancras, treat myself to a SouthEastern London to Calais day return for the day and ask them for a definitive answer on its HS1 validity.

Woah.

That's just too much for me to comprehend at quarter to one on a Monday morning!

You would encounter the same problems though.

In the morning, a lot of commuters turn up just before their train is to depart so they wouldnt get time to chat with them.

In the evening a lot of people just want to get home and have their tea & see their families so wouldnt want to spend time talking with them.

Ive always found meet the managers sessions to be better at London terminals in the evening peak - people are more prepared to get the next train if they can and stop and speak to you. That is only from my experience though.
