Southeastern - Extended journeys to Margate

Last summer, Southeastern extended a few of the Charing Cross to Gillingham via Woolwich Arsenal journeys down to Margate (trying hard not to say that Chas and Dave style). I believe it was just on Sundays in late July and August.

So I sent them a tweet earlier this week to ask if they were planning to do the same thing again this year - especially as Dreamland is now open.

They responded back that they were indeed going to be running these seaside specials again and I went and tried to find out using National Rail Enquiries when they were running but I was unable to find any further details or times.

I tweeted them back and they also said that they are definitely running but its not coming up on NRE and in true helpful Southeastern style they couldn't tell me when they were running.

Anyone got any insight on this as Southeastern obviously don't know what there own train company is doing....

I work for SE... These trains will definitely be running.

The reason there are no schedules in journey planners yet is the precise timings are still to be confirmed but are expected to be within the next 10 days.

I imagine that they will be quite busy this year.

I only hope that in the future a possible combined train and entry ticket to Dreamland might reappear!

As Tweeted, they begin next Monday 27th July.

The usual Monday to Friday extension of a London Charing Cross to Gillingham service to Ramsgate is running again, along with a new Denmark Hill to Ramsgate extra service and a new Elephant and Castle to Ramsgate extra service.

- 09.10 Charing Cross to Gillingham service extended through to Ramsgate (Calling at: Faversham, Whitstable, Herne Bay, Margate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate)
- An additional Denmark Hill to Ramsgate service leaving at 09.00 (Calling at: Peckham Rye, Bromley South, Rochester, Chatham, Gillingham, Rainham, Sittingbourne, Faversham, Whitstable, Herne Bay, Margate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate)
- An additional service departing Elephant & Castle at 09.57 to Ramsgate (Calling at Denmark Hill, Peckham Rye, Bromley South, Rochester, Chatham, Gillingham, Rainham, Sittingbourne, Faversham, Whitstable, Herne Bay, Margate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate)

There are also 3 extended CHX-GLM services on weekend mornings, and 3 return extensions on weekend evenings on the following dates (times and origins vary due to different weekend engineering works)...

25th, 26th July
1st, 2nd, 8th, 9th, 15th, 16th, 22nd, 23rd, 29th, 30th, 31st August
5th, 6th September

Denmark Hill to Ramsgate is a revival of a long standing BR era service (interesting that this year's doesn't call at any Catford Loop stations) but I don't think anything to the coast has started from Elephant in living memory. (I think there may be a reason: there were of Cannon St to Stewart's Lane empties but they'd have been 12 cars so no use for picking up at Elephant etc.)
