I am given to understand that Southeastern will cease to provide full Oyster facilities at Lewisham and potentially other stations from the end of the month. A limited subset of Oyster products such as PAYG credit and seven-day Travelcards will remain available from TVMs.

From Southeastern's website:

After August 2013 you will no longer be able to top-up your Oyster card from the seven Southeastern station ticket offices that previously provided this service. You will still be able to top-up using the ticket vending machines. The stations are: Beckenham Junction, Cannon Street, Charing Cross, Elmers End, Greenwich, Lewisham, New Cross and Woolwich Arsenal

Maybe they will be focusing on their SEFT ITSO smartcard?

I don't think Cannon Street ever offered Oyster top-ups at the booking office.

I wasn't aware that Charing Cross did either. The DLR and tram interchanges are not so controversial as almost all other stops are unmanned from a ticket point of view, but I can see an uneasy situation arising at New Cross, especially now all the other ex Southern stations have been upgraded to provide full facilities.

Charing Cross has signs at the ticket office in blue on the booth windows that you can buy Oyster products from the TVM's.

I agree with Mike that New Cross is the most controversial considering the history with having LUL and now London Overground services from that station.

Does Lewisham have a LU terminal, in the same way East Croydon, Wimbledon and Richmond have?
