I work for Southern

There are very cheap Southern fares between Southampton and London (Victoria)

There are also Southern+Greater Anglia fares between Southampton and Norwich which could be used for travel to and from Diss

As these are advance purchase tickets, unless the flow is also available at Diss, we can't advise breaching Terms and Conditions of tickets - Break of Journey is not permitted on advance purchase tickets.
