Absolutely brilliant, I've always found that my adventures in the Dearne Valley are often disrupted on a sunday by the 22x running only hourly.

So it seems like Travel South Yorkshire is changing many routes from September 1. These include bringing back the 47/48, lots of M-prefix routes and rerouting many services to name a few.

You can also complete a survey here: https://survey.alchemer.eu/s3/90728752/Bus-Service-Changes-September-24 with the full list of changes here https://www.travelsouthyorkshire.co...-service-changes-2024-08-31-SM-website-v1.pdf

What do you think of these changes?

For me I don't really care, the buses should only be getting better now that the anti-northern tories are out.

From 31st August, 01 and 02 September, bus service changes will be taking place throughout South Yorkshire.

Many services will have updated timetables to improve punctuality, and a variety of services will also have route changes to provide new and improved local connections, such as to employment and health centres. Route changes in Sheffield and Rotherham will provide frequent direct connection to AMRC.

The final list of changes is out now.

The splitting up of the Shiregreen loop by First will not go down to well. The main Shiregreen each way loop as existed for many years & passengers are used to it.

Why so many lettered services? Lettered services should only be used for evening & Sunday variants or odd journey variations for schools etc.

The 95/95a/95b would be better numbered as 93, 94 & 95.

The 95a & 95b look to be taking some passengers off the TM 30 with the 95a almost being a copy of it.

The 95b, good to see the Aston to Crystal Peaks link better served than at current with the 26/26a.

The 73 looks to be ticking a number of contract boxes trying to serve many areas with the same service. If it went straight up East Bank it would be a repeat of the 32.

Some additional notes...

First bus (including some maps!) https://www.firstbus.co.uk/south-yo...e-updates/updates/september-service-changes-1
- following the consultation the Walkley buses keep the 95 number and will be 95, 95a, 95b and 95s. They all follow the same traditional route Walkley to City.
- there was some confusion with the classic 47/48 to Shiregreen being brought back, it isn't actually going the classic route via Nursery Street and Pitsmoor, that will be the 75/75a!

Stagecoach - Sheffield https://www.stagecoachbus.com/promos-and-offers/yorkshire/service-changes-in-sheffield
note following the consultation the 6 will continue to serve Greystones, with locals keen to keep the direct connection to the Hallamshire Hospital and University of Sheffield

The Stagecoach 216/217/218 timetable from Barnsley is odd. Instead of a standard style 20 minute frequency with 3 per hour you will have a X19 at 25past the hour, 217/218 at 40past the hour & 219 at 55past the hour from Barnsley giving an uneven 30-15-15 style frequency.

I also notice the First 95 on Saturday is hourly meaning Walkley to Handsworth via City is every 20 minutes in the day. The evening & Sunday service is even more odd with a strange 45 minute frequency on 95 between City & Walkley only.
