Hi

I passed an assesment for a conductor job 6 months ago but have to wait for another vacancy to get an interview. With whats going on wih Southern is this still a wise job to take as a younger person? Ive failed a driving assesment once so am worried if I failed again I could be in a job with an uncertain future if I got offerered a conductor role and couldnt go on to driving.

I am not aware of any near term plans to remove conductors from SWT services. In the longer of course who knows what will happen, but by then you should be well established and therefore be offered other employment IF SWT do away with conductors.

Failing a driving assessment does not normally bar you forever from reapplying for driving. You might be well pass in a few years time.
Alternatively a few of good service with SWT should be in your favour if you wanted to seek work with another TOC.
