Thank god, centre arm rests are the devils work.

And the toilets don't dump (sorry about the pun) all over the rack, the engines don't fill the air with PM10s, nor do they scream when accelerating. At least they have got the important things right and are not getting bogged down with the nit-pickers.

Agreed Neil - it's better to have it but not use it than not have the option at all. Plus with it being right next to the door pocket, you have less room anyway with no window. Pesonally use both window and arm rest.

Each to their own though - at least the seats will be filled!

Are we really going to have huge great gaps between the carriage wheel sets like the model in the link? Jesus, the design looks like it's had half of its aesthetics and body forgotten about :(

Look at the mark4's or Pendolino's for examples of how it should look. No modern European train would have gaping holes in the train body like this. What happened to design? Making our trains look slick and stylish like on the continent? Or even Japan? Please, someone with design and build expertise tell me this awkward looking side view will not come into service like this?! It actually looks painfully unfinished and weak.

It is ugly but, does it really matter what it looks like as long as it gets passenger from A to B. I get my jobs done and I can crack a mirror. I suppose we could name the IEP "Fillis" while we're at it and paint it pretty pink.
