Hi folks,

I am planning on going out tomorrow to shoot some videos but have relativity no idea of what to do or where to go. I had originally thought about Wigan N.W or Crewe, I haven't done this in over 15 years and certainly haven't gone solo, so naturally I'm a bit apprehensive (given the stories of OTT staff and muggings).

I have done some shoots of Railtours but I happened to be on them at the time ;)

I really want to snap freight movements but I know most freight trains 'avoid' crewe and I don't know what's scheduled to run through Wigan (as it's not listed on FM). I had thought about Tamworth but it's a bit pricey on the train plus it's a bit of a trek. Could anyone suggest somewhere for me to go?

Any help would be appreciated.

I'd probably suggest Carlisle - plenty of freight, not too far from Manc and no bother with the staff.

Thanks for the suggestion mate, I will head up there sometime.

I went to Acton Bridge today after I liked what I have seen on videos and I was not disappointed. ok, maybe a little but that was because I missed 70010 by 30 seconds (If I had spotted it the second I got off my train I'd have got it) and that I missed two 86s which passed me just after my train departed for home. All in all it was a good day and I got to make some new friends :D

Now to prune over an hour of clips to make a few good compilations (not bad for nearly 8 hours).
