Hi, two questions really.
how can I take the class 323 horn, and make it the 158's horn? (the 158 horn is very un-realistic I find)

also, when I run NWM, I can get about 1/3 into the route, I'll stop at a stations, doors open, then the doors close but I don't get a guards buzzer reply...I've tried then jumping to the same station...I get the guards buzzer, I apply throttle and I hear the revving but the train doesn't move.

It happens on almost every activity.

Thanks,
Luke.

1. Go into the C:\Program Files\Mackoy\BVE 4\Train\Class 323 and there are " Kalxon0" "Klaxon1" and "Klaxon2" Sounds, Just simply copy these into the 158 Folder saying Yes to any Replacements.

Routine for Departure: The doors will close, The Guard will Beep his Buzzer Twice, You then do the same with the 6 Key, You can Now pull off!

Hope This helps

Thanks Nath, without trying to sound cheeky I'm comfortable with the routine for departure, my problem is, the 'buzzer' won't buzz after the doors have closed, thus BVE thinks the doors are still open and won't let me depart.

Odd, on the 158 the sequence should be:

- BVE plays door closing sound
(pause)
- BVE now thinks the doors are closed
- BVE plays 'ready to start' buzzer
- BVE tells the plugin the doors are closed
- plugin releases brake interlock

You should now be able to drive away. If you have just stopped at an intermediate station (see below for using 'jump to') and can't drive away then it probably means that BVE hasn't told the plugin that the doors are closed, so the interlock is still holding the brakes on. I'm not sure why this should happen.

One possibility, with this happening some way into the route, is that BVE has frozen to free memory. Try pressing F2 to display the time in the bottom left corner of the screen and see if it is still advancing.

BTW, when you use 'jump to' to get to an intermediate station, make sure you then:

1 - move the brake handle to full service (step 3 on a Sprinter)
2 - move the power handle to off
3 - move the reverser to neutral

This is to ensure that the handle positions are correctly synchronised between the plugin and BVE. If you don't carry out 1 above you may end up with the brakes applied even though the handle is in the release position, which is what I suspect is happening to you. The engine will rev briefly if you apply power due to a bug in the plugin code that handles the revving up sound which will be fixed in a future release.

Oh thats Um Strange! Try Closing the Doors Yourself While in BVE 4 Right Click, Click Options, User and select Developer the Click Ok, Then press F6 To close and Open the doors! This Might take a while to figure it out!

Thanks,

After jumping ahead to the station, try putting the reverser into neutral then back in to forwards, release and reapply the brake, then try move off. It usually works for me.

I sometimes get some DMU's and EMU's that when the doors close they open and close and then carry on doin that about four times :???:
any ideas?

but if i close them manually with F6 they close first time.

Jamie Course

Remember that BVE is an "in the cab" simulator,
so the horn will sound differnt to out side stood onn a platform.

It's to try and simulate people/luggage blocking a doorway, therefore the doors re-open and the guard has to attempt to close them again.

Having spent many hours in on the tip up seat in the front vestibule of 158s (due to little or no seating in the rest of the train, and the fact that on most CT 158s, the tip ups are the most comfortable on the whole train), I can say the BVE horn is dead on. It is quite unusual, with the closest I can think of being the Class 47 (they are also high pitched), with a bit of 90/91 thrown in, but very different from the other Sprinters, or the standard modern horn.

Or it's because some silly Dennis-type coder has put the stop command in the wrong place or used some ludicrously high jam factor!

He/she/it doesn't get people who hate the 323 horn.

How is that related to this thread? Or is it just spam?
