One more question please! Am I right and now 5N80 off Bognor Regis to Lovers Walk via Littlehampton formed of 12-car off Littlehampton, 5C44 off Lovers Walk to Bognor Regis via Littlehampton formed off 8-car throughout with no detaching at Littlehampton, 1H94 Worthing portion of 1F68 off Victoria and 5H95 off Worthing to Lovers Walk formed of 4-car?
If so we have three 377/4s working morning only (one of 5N80; including two forming 5F16 Victoria to Streatham Hill shed) and one all day diagram transferred from 377/4 to 377/3 (working most of the Brighton to Hove shuttle).

I'm not a local but it does seem a bit crazy to bin off a regular-interval half-hourly peak service, as appears to have happened here.
Particularly as for a good number of years the line had regular through services to London.

Is there no longer much demand for commuting on this line post-Covid? Or perhaps it's just more DFT-instigated cuts.

It was always a very low utilised service - even with through trains most (90% plus) passengers got off at Redhill to be replaced by Redhill customers heading for London. The few who remain as commuters have a very raw deal with most now driving to Redhill's full car park or to Merstham.
I can't see an increase in passenger use on this line going forward that will justify through trains again.
