It's an anomaly that isn't supposed to be there though -

One that's been there for nearly three years! Was there in NFM03 - the earliest I have, excepting NFM98, where the fare was a more reasonable £509.

The Fairlie FOR can be more useful than the 14-Day ALR though, given that it is valid on Virgin services arriving Euston before 1000.

That aside, it is one expensive price to pay for some additional flexibility. :p

One interesting fare had reared its head, although since the last time it shown its head, it's doubled! (Can't say except via PM (If i could attach images via the iphone app, although i can give the station codes) as if ATOC/The TOC see it...it'll go back to the fare before its prior incarnation)

I've bought one of those for use tomorrow - had the clerk at Stockport scratching his head, even more bemused as I requested a Priv discount on it.

Book it on line and they'll post it out to you for free :)

I can go one better than that and book via telesales, picking up the ticket more or less on my doorstep (no, I don't live at a station!)

I've checked the booking websites and the fare mentioned in the original post is now £633.00 :)

Nice to see a pricing error in the favour of a TOC fixed almost as quickly as one that favours the passenger. ;)
