I have my interview for a conductor post at Perth coming up on 26th February.

I have been looking at the internet and this site for a few weeks now to help me with how to answer the questions on "what do I know about the company" but when I go over the interview myself I keep coming up with the same answers. I am basically repeating what is on the Scotrail website about fleet size, stations operated at and which lines they run on etc etc.

Can anyone who has had the interview tell me what you said as I am not sure if I do just repeat this information if it will be enough.

I think I have read to much information if that makes sense ???

Any help would be hugely appreciated.

With the greatest of respect this is something you need to do yourself. You can gather lots of useful info on scotrail from places other than the website. Write down a page of stuff and work with it. All the information is there & available

This is what I have done, I have pages of information written down.

I am just looking for any information as to what other people said during their interviews.

Try it from another angle then..

If you were interviewing a candidate for a Trainee Conductor role, what would you ask them and what would you expect them to know?

You might want to look round the station.
Do you know any conductors/drivers at Perth? I found a lot of information for my DM interview from a train driver.
Use previous experience for your examples to the structured questions and research both first and Scotrail.
Good luck!!

Hutchy, thanks for your reply.

I have been to the station and spoke with a platform csa who had been on the job for 43 years he was great, really helpful. So I have some useful information from him.

I failed my train driver interview at the first interview stage last year and I don,t want to make the same mistakes again, hence why I am looking for any examples other people who have actually passed the interview may be able to share with me.

cheers

Cool. Did you ask lots of questions like how many conductors and drivers are in Perth? (I was asked that at my interview)
You might want to find out the routes that the Perth conductors work as you may be asked that too ;)
There are lots of links on here if you want to know the structured questions as I cant remember them off the top of my head.
I'm sure you will be great :)
