Some General ECML Questions

Hi guys, just some questions I hope someone can answer

1) Are there any GNER 91's that are now running in GNER livery (without white stripe)?

2) How frequent are HST's on the ECML?

3) Of these HST's how many are in the full blown NXEC livery instead of the white stripe?

4) How many HST's do Grand Central have in service?

5) Where is their depot? Sunderland?

HSTs are mainly used (inherently) on services which can't use 225s - for example, Inverness/Aberdeen/Bradford/Hull. Because of this they also show up on other services which the diagram works onto. I believe as well they can show up elsewhere, covering for a dead 225.

1) None (From what I know)
2) Depends where you are to be honest. All Aberdeen/Inverness/Hull/Skipton services are HST - some Leeds and some Newcastle are HST's (especially on a morning/late at night).
3) 4 powercars and 2 Mk3 rakes from top of my head
4) 3 rakes, 2 in service (one still in bits)
5) Heaton.

Look at the timetables on the NXEC website; they tell you whether its 225 or 125 set.

Yes it is Heaton. And no 91s are left in GNER livery. Equally none are in NXEC yet.

There is a diagram, IIRC, that is booked to run HST but can be run by a 225. Otherwise, HSTs to Aberdeen, Inverness, Hull and anywhere beyond Leeds. More recently, HSTs have been subbing for 225s at GLC, but this is still quite rare.

Except 1D45 on EC009 doesnt run via Askern and Methley - it calls at Wakefield for one and reverses in P1 in Leeds, a move not possible via Methley.

The trouble with answering this question is that they keep changing for operation reasons.
Last week (Wed I think) there was a full length rake in service with NXEC FC and SC coaches but GNER-blue power cars at either end and blue service/reastaurant car in the middle.
Looked a mess. Can you imagine it passing you? Blue, grey, blue, grey, blue.

GC have 2 full rakes and five coaches and both PCs for R3. Depot is Heaton, but Crew sign on at Sunderland

I'm basing it on the fact that the 1450 ABD-LKX is correct on scot-rail's page! :razz:

Also, that's been updated since I posted that FSR's one was the most up to date. SR's was mos trecent at that time (IIRC).

That is true, the Methley line converges with Lines E and F and therefore can only access platforms 8-17.

Which is the main reason that the 22.05 XC to York (Ex Plymouth) runs into P16 at Leeds with the 22.10 TPE to Manchester running from 15.

Slight correction from above that E&F lines only access 8-13 and 15-17 - as 14 is an east end bay

The funny thing is the Quail diagrams say the same thing and its inaccurate! It also says C and D lines can access all platforms, again 7 and 14 are bays!
