As some of you know I used to have a priv. I don't now as I work full time and there's no way I could afford to make some of the journeys that I used to a year or two ago. I guess some of them may be possible with a bit of planning, but I have better things to do with my time than working out the best combination of tickets for a trip. These days unless I specifically wanted to travel by train I'd be more likely to just drive.

Is it such a shock you have to buy a ticket instead of using a pen to tick a box? We people without privs pay (or used to pay in your case) for your journies so IMO you should be glad you had a priv. also because of what I said above what gives you the right to have that attitude with me?

No. I'm saying if I hadn't had the priv (as I don't now) then I wouldn't have made the journeys that I did, as without pre-planning the majority of rail journeys are ridiculously expensive.

BTW you don't tick the box, you write the date in it

We people without privs pay (or used to pay in your case) for your journies so IMO you should be glad you had a priv.

Conversely having a priv is a benefit of working on the railway. If they were revoked then workers salaries would go up which would ultimetly increase ticket prices. So you should also be glad these people have privs.
