SN 455 East Croydon-Shephards Bush

Just saw a class 455 working the 19.06 East Croydon to Shepherds Bush service. Couldn't catch unit number. Noticed that it was running in passenger service with no interior lights on. Any reason for this rarity?

On Friday morning I also saw a sn 455 departing East Croydon for shepherds bush , not sure how rare it is.

455s on the actual route is a normal daily occurrence. I think the original question might be more to do with the lights being off...

It is only a couple of services in the evening peak that are booked for 455s AFAIK. This weekend it will be because of the WCML blockade. No need for the normal dual voltage 377s as services aren't running on any OHLE routes.

At a guess it came out the depot without lights on as it was running empty somewhere. Chances are that the driver forgot to switch them on or didn't notice that they were off. I once took a train all the way into Moorgate before anyone told me that the lights were off. I couldn't believe that no one had bothered to tell me at highbury.

Chances are the guard would have realised when they got on at Clapham Junction and would have turned them on.
