recently ive had the pleasure of traveeling to sadnwich from dover and back again in the early evening (well i say pleasure but never mind)
anyway tonight i arrived at sandwich and there was the usual throng of school kids on the platform. just about big enough too.
anyway we all got on and there was enough room to squeeze on board and i even managed to get a seat next to the disabled toilet
just as we were leaving sandwich i became aware of this group of kids playing with phone caeras as i looked up on of the windows smashed and absolutely shattered
someone had thrown something at it from the outside
oh well to be expected now adays i guess but it i was a bit of a shock at the time

One kid brags that he is as big and tough as the rest, and they challenge him to do something to prove it. Of course, the rest of them goad him on until he's in a position where he can't back down ....

You want to try Cambridge in the morning, especially near the (only) entrance-exit. Eight o'clock ish, there's a stopper from Kings Cross, a fast from KGX, a Liverpool Street and an Airport service all arrive close together, trying to squeeze through the four or five "out" gates, stopping passengers trying to get in, and trying to get past the queues for the coffee and information stands. Not fun.

Should be an overnight replacement. Up here they just lock the carriage OOU and return it to depot. Often they can do it and have it back ins ervice by the next peak.

New platforms must be 2.5m wide AIUI - so about 7'6.

What happens to the stock depends on how many panes of glass were broken.

On double-glazed stock, a vehicle can remain in service and operate at speeds of up to 100mph if only one pane is broken but must be taken OOU if both panes are broken.

I don't know what's more dispicable; the fact they deliberately damaged someone else's property, or the fact that they'd all recorded it on their phones :roll: Personally, I'll never see why or how people can do anything like that.

Salford had to deal with a noisy railtour in December last year, a packed out pacer came in. It was bouncing all over the place even when idling. Have a guess why...

Try catching a bus in birmingham I was on a bus a while ago and some kid's (I could say some wrong nasty words) decided throwing a firework under the bus they thought it was so funny they forgot to run away (bad mistake) let's just say the bus was checked then we left and the kid's were well on the floor but not in laughter. (I didnt do it the drunk people on the bus did)

it was double glazed so it can keep running till its repaired think the higehst speed is anout 75-90
funny thing is the other day i was there there was a tennis ball between the tracks so i think that was the one that was thrown
