Is there a small one at Paignton? I've seen XC and FGW drivers nip into a hut that's next to the level crossing. They always seem to leave quite contentedly, so it could just be the staff bogs.

Might be a mess point but defiantly not a depot.

Liverpool Street only has about 20 drivers and 8 conductors, mostly for Norwich InterCity work and a few DOO class 321 diagrams. Nearly all the other EMU work is based at the locations where the units are stabled.

On Northern rails network i would says it is between Buxton and Workington i can't imagine either of them being very big. Something tells me that Carlisle is not the smallest but is definitely quite small too.

Stranraer has 4 drivers and 4 conductors, but seems to have problems with people on long term sick leave.

Only has two 'active turns' M-S 0701 - 1404 and 1443 - 0052.

317s and 315s are exclusively DOO. 321s are DOO by and large but do have some workings with guards, at the extremities of the GEML and on branchlines mainly.

Hugely amused - Fishguard was once a Transatlantic port (!) - for a very short time and a somewhat more lively place (due to the Irish trade - than a platform in the middle of knowhere , which has no reason for a train crew depot.

To quote Mr Gradgrind from Dickens novel "Hard Times" - "facts , facts and more facts" .....

At the end of Fishguard Depot, the train crews were under the authority of the Port Manager and not a BR Manager at the local level.

Anglia used to hire in 317s from WAGN for Ipswich/Harwich PQ services all of which had guards as Anglia didn't do DOO.

I assume that was done by 10-belling? 317s don't and were built without guards controls...unless they modified some?
