Small tank engine, 1917

Found this picture amongst the family photos that I inherited from my Mother.

It will have been taken by my maternal Grandfather, Norman George Benstead, who served in the Royal Naval Air Service during WW1. It was taken in 1917 at Kingsnorth Airship Construction Station which was where he was stationed in 1917. Its in N Kent not far from where Kingsnorth Power Station is now.

If anyone is interested I will try and find the negative. Is it of any historical interest.

You might like to contact the Yeovil Railway Centre as the loco (Lord Fisher) is currently there and in working order, iirc.

I heard from them very quickly and they would like a scan of the picture as although they are aware of the early history they don't have any photographs. So a good result. When that picture was taken 100 years ago the engine was only 2 years old. I have come across some other rail related pictures amongst the collection:

Blue Pullman (Not the best pictures...)
Lancing station prior to electrification
Pannier tank at Paddington, a slide, but not well exposed
Flying Scotsman passing through Wandworth Common but speed and camera resulted in a less than perfect picture.
No doubt there will be a few more
