OT, but The Corris Railway didn't last long at all under BR ownership; only a few months at most IIRC?

Closed in August 1948, following a washout that isolated Maccynlleth station (and the loco shed) from the rest of the line. Much of the track was obtained by the Tallyllyn, then still (just about) a going concern, although it had somehow escaped nationalisation. The Corris locomotives followed after the TR passed into the hands of the preservationists following the death of its owner in 1950.
