Slide Indicators (Mod Note: Datum plate)

Dear All,

I'm new here so greetings to all. My question is at stations looking down from the platform edge towards the track there are adjustable slide indicators with markings fitted to the wall. Can anyone tell me what they are please.

It's a Datum Plate:

Datum plates are fixed to structures (platforms, bridges and overhead line masts, etc.) located near the track. The details on the plate specify the relative position of the track, which can then be monitored for movement.
