Does anyone know anything about what happened to the sleepers last night? The only info I have is that the Inverness sleeper left Preston at 0900 but the Fort William has passed Garelochhead but that doesn't seem to make sense.

Up sleeper due into Euston 1231, according to ScotRail web site, and was cancelled north of Edinburgh.

Down Fort William sleeper was showing as 52 late off Rannoch, so must have arrived by now.

So the highland sleepers ran Edinburgh south only and are 4 or 5 hours late? Then the northbound highland is on its way to Fort William and Inverness and Aberdeen? Then what about the lowland sleeper?

Anyone know if they're running tonight? I'm booked to go to Aviemore, and need to know before I set off for Euston. The website says everything suspended north of the Central Belt.

I rang Scotrail to ask and they said they wouldn't know until some time this afternoon. I am also due to go on the sleeper tonight.

Looking at a couple of departure boards relevant:
The only services running at Perth are Perth-Edinburgh via Ladybank
The only services running at Stirling are Glasgow-Stirling/Alloa
Dundee has no train. Inverness has nothing. Aberdeen is currently optimisic about the 14:50 to Kings Cross.

Up sleeper left without the Inverness portion. Ran into trouble by Carstairs with connections. Emergency coupling used between the two portions. 67 hauled from Carstairs.

All pax detrained at Preston by 7 onto the first London train. No idea what happened to the Inv portion!

Is this what happened to it?

Or is that the same one as the one you are talking about as the SB sleepers all use the headcode 1M16, so the screens would have thought it was from Inverness, even without that portion?

Just rang Scotrail, they say that it looks like the train will be running, Inverness portion and all. Fingers crossed!

The southbound lowland sleeper uses 1M11, the sb highland is 1M16.

That would be two nights in a row that a 67 has come all the way to London on a sleeper.

1S25 (The northbound highland) left Euston just under an hour late last night as well due to stock late off Wembley and awaiting traincrew.

There's a rake of sleeper stock on P11 at Waverley, if anyone's interested. I'm on the Edinburgh portion tonight, hope all's running alright...

I am on the sleeper off Glasgow tonight. Scotrail said it is running but to expect delays. So did the sb from Inverness get anywhere last night?

On the sleeper from Glasgow now. Disappointingly no lounge car. So as well as nowhere to sit no hot breakfast either. Those working on the sleeper tell me they are exhausted having had too little sleep for days. Apparently the latest was last night when the sleeper to Glasgow was terminated at Carlisle.

Looks like the misery continues tonight for Scot Rail. 1S26, the lowland sleeper is now cancelled before even departing Euston.

Any idea why the northbound lowland is cancelled? Are the north and southbound highland running ok?

Northbound Highland 1S25 - Last reported passing Stafford 1 minute late.
Northbound Lowland 1S26 - Last reported cancelled at Euston.
Southbound Lowland 1M11 - Both portions not due to depart until 23:40

Southbound Highland
Fort William portion 1B01 - Last reported at Crianlarich 2 minutes late
Aberdeen portion 1B16 - Last reported at Dundee 1 minute late
Inverness portion 1M16 - Last reported at Perth 1 minute late.

Not bad at all so far with the exception of 1S26.

Last night, Aberdeen/Inverness/Fort William to London PINEd at Crewe because of an ETS failure. Everyone had to get out, and most caught the 06:52 Voyager to London. I was lucky to get a free cup of coffee.

What is ScotRail's re-accommodation policy if a sleeper is cancelled? Do you get hotel accommodation (and if so, what grade?) and are you given the choice of the next available daytime or nighttime service?

Sleeper Services

All ScotRail Sleeper trains on Tuesday 7 December have been cancelled. Customers with reservations on these trains should contact ScotRail customer services on 0845 601 5929 to arrange a refund.

All Sleepers due to run tonight are cancelled, according to web site.

Any news on the rest of the week? Is tonight's cancellations anything to do with stock being in the wrong place to make the trains up with the cancellations recently, or staff being given time to rest after being on journeys extended by up to 5 hours or being stuck at the wrong end of the country, Or is it all just down to the weather? I notice there are trains running from Edinburgh to Inverness today so assuming the line is open.

One of the sleepers was sitting in Waverley platform 11 this afternoon, which seems odd if they're not running :?

The stock wouldn't be in the wrong place, as they were cancelled from the origin. The only associated problem is that maybe some of the carriages missed maintenance?

Well, I know that some of them had an ETS failure.

Re tonight's southbound sleeper: although ScotRail web site says it's cancelled, LDB shows the Fort William one left Rannoch 6 mins late. The Inverness portion isn't showing at all so presume cancelled. The Aberdeen one is in the system as due to depart on time at 2142. Maybe the FW portion is seats only to Edinburgh?
