Slade green speed restrictions?

Whenever i'm on a semi-fast (to London) to abbey wood, the trains will slow down and do roughly 20-30mph through Slade Green depot/station when they are supposed to do 60mph. Why is that?

What for? New tracks? They had that since June or May, and surely it doesn't take that long to replace the old tracks.

Could be anything really, but I wouldn't be so sure about the ability to quickly fix the fault - sometimes it may require a large job which can take several months to plan, or it may even just be something that isn't that important in the grand scheme and so is put off until such an opportunity as the funds/time are available to fix it. I'm sure that any one of the forum members who drives that route will actually know.
