Whilst in London today on Great Eastern Road I noticed a rather odd site amongst the demolition work for the new "overground" were two LU carriages perched on a rooftop!!! does anyone have any idea how they got there?? more to the point what stock they are?? I then became curious to which line this originally was??

What a strange idea, they are in quite bad condition even all the way up there. Am I right in thinking they are 67s or 72s?

Yeah they're the old Jubilee line trains that LUL have been trying to hide and now get rid of for years, and trying to dodge all the negative PR!

Always found it strange that they just dumped them... could have been used to replace older stock elsewhere!

There werent that many of them (only running between Stanmore and Charing Cross). They had only one single leaf door so would increase dwell times and possibly cause platform crowding issues, particuarly on "tube" stations. I think these two issues made them unpopular to be used on other lines. Plus I hear that they werent too reliable. Unlike the Un-Refurbed D Stock, which was/is the most reliable stock.
