apparently HST wanted for lincoln services

as far as im aware (i volunteer at KWVR and this is what was said) it is a myth about the supply not being good enough. The calculations were never done just presumed, when someone finally did the calculations they realised a 91 could get up there so.... trials happened. Something to do with gauging in one direction i beleive its limited to 40 through bingley but that is all

Just to add to this, albeit a few days late... As far as I know, the one time a 91 tried going up on that line, it caused issues for all the other trains as they all came to standstills.

Confirmed today. A Kings Cross-Harrogate service starts in May.

About time too!! Hopefully this should help with the overcrowding which occurs on the line and then freeing some stock up for Northern.

Any ideas what time the service is expected to depart Kings X??

18:03 HST from KGX to Skipton was a 'mare today, just one 1st carriage plus the fag-end 1st on the buffet car. What are EC playing at?

EDIT - ToC correction!

Dont you think it could be due to the fact on this occasion there was a defect with one of the TF's which caused its removal from the set. Its very rare that has to happen. EC do have a spare TF and its kept at Craigentinny, and the set for the Skipton begins the day in Aberdeen.

Does this just do Aberdeen - London - Skipton?

Yes,

It is the 0955 Aberdeen - Kings Cross (1657) followed by the 1803 Skipton,

The day before it would have done 0755 Aberdeen - Kings Cross followed by the 1600 Kings Cross - Aberdeen

The day before that the 0700 Edinburgh - Kings Cross followed by the 14:00 Kings Cross - Aberdeen,

So as you see it normally spends a while away from Edinburgh, although they can set swap if they need to of course.
