Skipping ICE Leg on DB Spezial?

Hi,

I see DB will sell be an Aachen-Brussels-London ticket for 99eur, whereas the same Brussels-London service on Eurostar.com is £122.

Is there anything wrong with just buying the DB Spezial fare and boarding in Brussels?

No idea if it's technically barred but I don't see how they would know.

There will not be any problems as you could legitimately be changing trains

I had the situation that the ticket on the ICE was not scanned and it was no problem.
