On Saturdays 15th, 22nd and 29th December there will be a 6 car Angel HST set running between Nottingham and Skegness on the following services.

2S11 0955 Nottingham to Skegness
2S14 1215 Skegness to Nottingham via Grantham
2S21 1445 Nottingham to Skegness via Grantham
2S24 1724 Skegness to Nottingham

They also get very busy. Admittedly more so in the summer but weekends near Christmas can be fairly busy.

Probably a shortage of stock, the HSTs would normally sit idle at weekends anyway.

Because I've been a little out of the loop, is this a normal EMT HST, an ex-Grand Central HST, or something else?

Sounds like it will be one of the former GC HST sets which would otherwise sit on depot all weekend.

Ex GC, the normal HSTs are owned by Porterbrook

Just to update you all, currently postponed on all three dates now.

If it is unit shortages then couldn't it work on weekdays as well. The morning set could work empty from Nottingham to Sheffield so 1 set would only be needed until the 1945 from Nottingham.

I guess crew knowledge would prevent this from happening.

Couldn't possibly comment on that, come back in about 6 months...
