Can I nominate a former underpass? Leeds City before the rebuild, permiated by the stench of boys wee from the Gents loo that used to be down there

Memories! Apparently that underpass is still there (though sealed). Any staff able to confirm?

Back in the 80s, it was as bad as Kirkgate.

My memory of it from the mid 80s is admittedly vague, but as I remember it even at it's dingy, damp worst it was better than Kirkgate is now! Though then at least the steps rose into the concourse. I guess that's the advantage of having staff on stations! The most irritating thing about it now is the fact that the new steps on P1 are too narrow, and that most of the users seem unable to tell left from right!

I remember the old Leeds subway too- those toilets were pretty grim. I don't think they filled it in though when it closed.

Can I also add Taunton to the list? Unless it's had work done in the last few years that is. Hebden Bridge is also surprisingly skanky considering the elegance of the rest of the station.

The one under Newport where the ramp from the island platform led to. Seem to remember it being unlit. Not sure wether it is still open.
