Six month rule for Train Driver applications

Evening all,

Just wondering if anyone knows what the official ruling is in regards to six months between applications. Is it six months from application date or the date you failed the assessment? I'm leaning towards the latter.

2.7.1 Railway undertakings shall not re-assess a candidate who has failed the psychometric assessment process within six months.

I would take that to mean six months from the date you originally sat the assessments. The form you fill out before sitting the tests asks for the dates of any previous assessments, not the dates of any previous applications.

So if you fail the assessment in say January and then apply for a new job in May would you be excluded even though the application sift etc may take you past the 6 month period for a new assessment?

It certainly seems that way but if you know it's going to take a month to start shortlisting then you should be fine as they won't check your dates until assessment time.
