Hi,

I wish to travel to Ebbsfleet Int'l tomorrow, one way, with a 16-25 Railcard.

Avantix gives 2 fares - Any Permitted and Plus HS1.

The Any Permitted SDS fare is £5.40 where the same fare "Plus HS1" is £8.70.

Here's the thing - a CDR Plus HS1 is £7.55 - cheaper than a single!

I assume the Any Permitted SDS fare is NOT valid on the HS services, or am I wrong?

Thanks
Ryan

Something is wrong here. Ebbsfleet Intl is ON HS1, therefore you can't get to it without using a little bit of HS1. That said, you are only using the mile or two between Gravesend and Ebbsfleet. Apart from that, any ticket is valid on Javelins as far as Gravesend from Sittingbourne, you only need to have HS1 validity beyond Gravesend.

I know Ebbsfleet is on HS1, I've used HS1 since the Previews last June!

I know about the ticket validity, but is there a problem with the fares in Avantix?

How can Any Permitted be cheaper than Plus HS1? Or is this Southeastern's added upgrade?

Thanks
Ryan

Are you using an old Avantix? Mine has First Single/Return as the only Any Permitted route tickets and all the rest are routed Plus High Speed Only.

Route Any Permitted
FDR £14.25
FDS £7.15

Route Plus High Speed
SVR £14.90 4A
SDR £10.05
CDR £5.55 C4
SDS £5.40

(with 16-25)
