Junction 10 of the M4 is made up of a lot of concrete sections on the A329(M).

The A417 has a long stretch of concrete road near Cirencester.

I seem to recall that a fair bit of the M54 was concrete a fair few years ago.

I really don't like driving down concrete roads due to the noise.

Concrete roads were fashionable in the UK in the late 1990s, although most have since been tarmacked over (one notable remaining section is on the A35 in Puddletown Forest, built in 1999 and not since resurfaced).

The a30 between okehampton and whiddon down currently has concrete surface, absolutely awful to drive on, but apparently it's harder wearing when there is ice etc across that stretch over dartmoor.

This is what West Sussex County Council have been doing. It looks like job isn't finished and the former smooth surface is replaced with the chippings.
A few years ago the rage was the very smooth soft finish which caused a number of accidents but was a much better drive.

Well, I suppose it probably does give more grip and might allow better drainage, but making the road through a village even noisier is not exactly helpful, especially when everyone parks on the road and many of the cars are getting scratch marks.
