Thanks mate. Stupid question but it doesn't harm your computers security security does it? only mine seems somewhat prone to viruses etc. Also its a laptop, does this make any difference. thanks mate
I don't see how it would mess your security software up. Nope shouldn't make any difference that it's a laptop, SimSig isn't the most stressful peace of software for a computer to run.

It is stressful though if your trying to run Trent or Edinburgh without any help though
Perhaps for the human silly enough to take on Trent or Edinburgh by themselves but I'm sure the computer itself will be fine

Just a bit of advice regarding your PC security. I run Windows Vista Home Premium and Norton360 security. When I first tried to download Simsig the Norton kept blocking it as not safe. I found out which bit of the Norton was stopping it, turned it off and loaded Simsig again. Worked fine that time. Reset Norton and no further probs. Sorry to sound a bit involved, but just to offer a bit of a warning. In the event, eventually decided I couldn't get on with Simsig. Might be just me, but seems a bit slow, complicated and technical.

I've found that occasionally antivirus/firewall software will block certain downloads on a 'false-positive' basis. Some genuine and harmless programs contain some code which trips the security software, as it closely resembles the code in a known harmful malware. The companies that produce the security programs work on a 'better safe than sorry' philosophy, so you do occasionally need to bypass them to download and install. If you're sensible about doing this there should be no problems. I've found this to be the case with Norton, AVG, Sophos and Bullguard from personal experience.
