Thanks Meld but still no go. I usually use Firefox and cleared all cookies and Ctrl-F5. I have now also tried with IE and no luck. What am I doing wrong all of a sudden?

Sorry to add to my own post, but the problem may be with Tiscali. I have now been trying to download some Usenet groups and news.tiscali.co.uk keeps timing out as well. So I have mailed them, but don't hold my breath waiting for a reply

Yes there does appear to be a problem with Tiscali this weekend, in certain areas - I know for sure that family in Clacton on Sea are struggling to get anything at all today - so must be a prob;em at their end

Thanks both. I have had a reply from Tiscali. They gave exactly the same suggestions as you did so still no joy! I have also tried using my laptop over a wireless connection to the same router my desktop uses and I get the same response. Is is really likely to be at my end?

Thank for your help

It certainly appears Tiscali is not working as well as their status page claims. Thanks Muppet, as you have the same problem, that means that re-installing Firefox and IE might still not work. I am away from the internet from today until Sunday 20th and if I still can't get to simsig I will be complaining to Tiscali again.

Hi all,

Its taken me ages to find somewhere to get info on this.
Haven't been able to connect to simisg for about a month. I thought at first it had been taken offline for some obscure commercial or copyright infraction. After a while I trawled the internet trying to find some info and eventually stumbled on this.
The connection to simisg times out and yes I am on Tiscali.
Have tried the 'clear cookies and F5' to no avail.

Does anyone have any further info and / or a fix, I'm getting serious withdrawal symptons!!!!

If you're running the newest version of IE, try deleting all your passwords/browsing history etc. Otherwise, contact Tiscali? Maybe there's a compatability issue.

Try using a proxy site. I had the same issue with the old MML site.

Sorry computer illiterate - how do I do this?

Tony

I'm running IE 6.02. Nothing has changed from when Simsig worked. It just stopped connecting!!!!
