Signalling systems on Northern routes

I am in the early stages of looking into the whole signalling system covered by Northern Rail out of Newcastle. I am looking for information from what signal boxes cover what signals and if they are semaphore or light systems. I understand Tyneside cover upto south of Sunderland where RG take control then NS. Where may I get this information if available and also what signals are covered through to Darlington.

IIRC Tyneside goes upto Blaydon box on the Tyne Valley line, Ryhope Grange on the Durham Coast, Heighington on the Bishop Auckland line, Newsham on Blyth and Tyne, Morpeth on the ECML, and Bowesfield on Darlington to Middlesbrough. South of Darlington it changes to York IECC. Urlay Nook I think is now a crossing box, but it used to control sections as well.

On the Stillington branch it is probably Ferryhill if this box is still in use.

Tyneside has a number of workstations which cover the various areas e.g. Sunderland, Newcastle, Darlington.

Network Rail's London North Eastern Route Sectional Appendix details the controlling signalboxes or control centres for each route section next to the track diagram in Section A. it's a large and unwieldy document and quite difficult to find your way around. Table A is split into a number of different sections throughout the book. The north east branches are covered in the final section towards the end, starting at p839 in the pdf, but the main line is in a different section, starting at p295.

Table A shows the method of working e.g. AB or TCB but doesn't indicate where semaphores are used as opposed to colour lights. Many mechacical boxes have colour lights in entirety or just for some signals.
