Signalling School Information

Is there anyone that has recently completed signalling school that could shed some light on the current course structure?

1) How were the tests conducted? Multiple choice, written, sim or a mixture?

2) How many tests were there throughout the course?

3) Is there anything I could learn in advance to aid my training?

4) How big was your group?

5) What hotel did you stay in?

6) What was the dress code?

Any information would be great to help me prepare and get the most out of my training.

1) Week 2 - mainly multi choice, Week 5 95% short written answers, Week 8 95% short written asnwers.

2) Three written as above, plus three simulations and a final simulation.

3) No, go with a open mind - ears open listen and ask questions.

4) 6

5) Depends which School you go to, usually a decent standard two meals provided each day.

6) smart / causal.

In relation to learning stuff before you go to signalling school, I agree that it is best to go with an open mind. However, it is never too early to start learning the bell codes list in section 2 of TS1 rule book https://www.rssb.co.uk/rgs/rulebooks/GERT8000-TS1 Iss 11.pdf
The more you have learned the less you will need to worry about in the first 2 weeks as they really expect you to know them by the end of week 2.

Thanks for the tip I've just printed them off and hopefully, I can learn most or all of them before I start.
