Just came back from Birmingham New Street on the 1322 departure (1L42) to Stansted Airport. We were 12 down leaving BHM and re-routed via Tamworth High Level, Burton-on-Trent and East Midlands Parkway. Pulled into LEI 45 down and were told by the guard that there was signalling issues at South Wigston.

All XC Birmingham - Stansted route are diverted and Birmingham - Leicester local services are cancelled. Services do not call at Nuneaton, Hinckley, Narborough or South Wigston. Delays on the MML as well with some Sheffield services cancelled. Oh dear! :(

You would be right to be dubious as i heard on the grapevine they had exactly the same problem again today at the same place?

I was told last Sunday that there had been major signalling problems at Wigston Jct last Saturday also.
Wigston Jct does have a history of these type of problems, I was on a train diverted via Manton when going to St Pancras last year with a similar prob.
