Hello,

I have recently applied for a signalling role in Yorkshire. I have been lucky enough to pass the initial application stage and have sat the psychometric testing online and have 'met the benchmark' with regards to my score. My application is now under review and I'm hoping to hear something in the near future.

Would the next stage be an interview, whether this be face to face or video interview?

If so, does anyone have any advice on the interview process? I have already started to revise my competency based questions, what role NWR play within the railway industry and I am looking into NR safety vision and their future plans etc.

Any advice or tips would be much appreciated.

The short answer is yes the next stage would be an interview, however....

The sticky at the top of this board has a wealth of information, read through it in its entirety It will help you no end if you get to the interview stage

A telephone interview could happen, alternatively to a video interview.
Consider a lot of people where they can will be working from home at the moment.
Good luck, these seem to be great roles for the right person. :)

Hi guys, new member here, I have just sat the online tests, I think I may have messed up the complete instrument test! I may have muddled up least and most agree, in my answers, not a great start! Fingers crossed

Hello. Can you tell me what the Psychometric tests involve? I’m thinking of going down the career path as a signaller. Many thanks.

If you google SHL tests, this is the site that NWR use for the tests. I had three tests, maths, verbal and one I would describe as attitude and behaviours.
They do practice exams for maths and verbal, I would recommend having a few goes at these before the exams themselves.
Good luck.

They are more likely to do video interviews as then they can be done at anytime and the questions are timed you only have x amount of time to answer the question.

Hi Worldwide, thanks for your above comments.

I have started revising, however I am yet to find out if I have an interview or not. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed and hoping to prepare the best I can.

Thanks again

Been and gone.
I am still waiting to find out from HR how they want me to conduct external interviews planned for later this month. I really do not want to have to go down the Skype route. Hopefully they will let me delay until after the lockdown rules are relaxed.

More revision time for the lucky few who get an interview if that's the case. Hopefully I will be one of the lucky few...
