Signaller Haslemere

I have been waiting for Signaller roles to be advertised at Three Bridges ROC for quite some time now but they don't seem to come up very often. They are currently advertising for G3 at Haslemere SB which is commutable for me. Before I apply does anyone in here have any knowledge of that box, size, manning, how busy it is etc. Also once in is it easy enough to move between locations to ultimately end up at Three Bridges? Thanks.

Haslemere cover a very small area, between Farncombe and Petersfield. I can't recall if Liss/Liss common come under petersfield or Haslemere.

2 fasts an hour in each direction with 1 stopper and 1 terminating stopper. Occasional route refreshing during the day. The signal box itself is small and on the platform, would imagine its one man working in normal circumstances.

Haslemere controls from Witley to slightly past Liphook inclusive. No level crossings (Liss Common AHBC is "controlled" from Petersfield), operated by lever frame.
Quite quiet once you know the service, but when something breaks somewhere it can range from busy to frenetic. Single manned and open 24/7.

Thanks godfreycomplex, hmmm not so sure about the single manned element, could get a bit lonely I should think on night shifts. Further consideration needed.

You won't be lonely if you're asleep (did I say that out loud?!). Some of the boxes on the line had resident cats, but I think Haslemere may have been the exception.

In all seriousness, don't be put off by single-manning. There are a variety of ways to fill quiet periods, and the experience gained from dealing with problems 'solo' can be invaluable.

The most recent vacancies at TBROC seem to have been filled internally.

Brighton to Haslemere, only an hours drive, depending on the shifts they work there it should be fine.

There's a picture of a cat, will that do?
Changeovers are at 06:30; 13:00 and 20:30, except Sundays and overtime which are twelve hours swapping at half six. I would say Brighton is at the very edge of the commutable area. It's a decision only you can make of course but for my money the last thing you need after a night shift is a long drive home (plus you'll be getting to Brighton just in time for rush hour, like as not)

I commuted from Brighton to another box on the line (with a cat!), and found it manageable. Looking at RTT, there still seems to be a four-and-a-half hour gap each night; plenty of time to rest before the drive home.
